Starting a new job is stressful. So is moving. Our Work/Life Team will help you get from there to here with a minimum of fuss. We have tips on moving companies, housing, transportation, getting your license switched, and finding caregivers. Call us at 703-993-2600.
If you want to start a family, or already have a child, Mason has the resources you need to help with scheduling and care.
If you or your spouse is expecting a child, or you're planning to welcome an adopted or foster child to your family, your best strategy is to contact the benefits team in Human Resources (HR) as early as possible. They can provide information in such areas as:
- Leave policies and options.
- Flexible work opportunities.
- Health insurance benefits.
- Lactation facilities.
- Adding a child to your insurance policy.
- Enrolling in a dependent care/health flexible spending account.
Working parents frequently need outside child care. As a Mason faculty member, you have registration priority and can get discounted rates at the Child Development Center on the Fairfax Campus. Our preschool program currently cares for children ages 2 to 5.
If that doesn't work for you, faculty, staff, and graduate students have a complimentary subscription to Sittercity’s database of in-home caregivers for child care. Access is free, but registration is required.
Resource and referral information is available, and not just for the DC metro area — our team will work with you to provide resources for loved ones nationwide.
