Grant Writing 101 Obtaining funding for research, scholarship and creative activity is an integral part of many academics’ lives. Grant writing is completely different from other forms of academic writing – and it’s a tough skill to teach yourself. Every grant sponsor has a unique focus and application format. It is critical to target your application to your audience. Join us in this interactive workshop designed to take a deeper dive into three major sources of grant support, Department of Defense (DOD), National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH). The seminar will introduce agency areas of emphasis, application features and key elements of successful proposals to these agencies. |

Planning for a Productive Summer Summer can be both a faculty member’s best friend and biggest challenge. Gone are many of the routines and obligations that take priority throughout the academic year, and we often plan for productive writing, research, and scholarship days. But sometimes even our best laid plans can go by the wayside. Join us to learn how to identify summer goals, both personal and professional, and develop a concrete plan for achieving those goals. In this conversation, you will be guided to identify the support you need for success and how you will ensure that this is a highly productive – and enjoyable – summer. |
